Huanglianduo Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The Huanglianduo Fm was named by Guan Baode et al. in 1980. The typical section is situated in Jiuntidong near Xiatang Town in Lushan County, Henan Province. The reference section is located in Guguling, Changfeng County of Yexian, Henan Province.

Lithology and Thickness
The Huanglianduo Fm is dominated by light gray to grayish white dolomite with siliceous bandings and chert. The lower part is composed of sandy conglomerate interbedded with quartzite. The chert shows flat-beddings and interlayer folds with different color and syngenetic rubbles. The thickness ranges from 133 to 445 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The lowermost part with light gray stable sandy conglomerate rests disconformably on the underlying Luoyukou Fm (Jixian, late Mesoproterozoic)
Upper contact
The formation is disconformably overlain either by the Dongjia Fm or by the Luoquan Fm
Regional extent
The Huanglianduo Formation is exposed in Luonan of Shaanxi Province, in Ruicheng of Shanxi Province, and in Dengfeng, Yiyang, Lingbao, Ruyang, Fangcheng, Lushan, Yexian, Wuyang and Xiping counties of Henan Province.
